Boots Haul

So before Christmas, I went into Boots for a tiny splurge on some makeup items I was in serious need of on a budget. I had accumulated many Advantage Card points throughout the year so it was inevitable I was going to have a little splurge. Let's see what I got...

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer - £8.49
This is the product I was most excited to pick up. I use it to highlight my cheekbone, brow bone, and cupid's bow as well as to rid those awful under eye bags I have. It is made my god! This drugstore product is a definite dupe for the Ysl Touche Eclat. It is easily blendable with great coverage but the consistency is not to heavy. The creaseless concealer leaves a light and illuminating look. The packaging is also divine and rose gold! This does not feel like a drugstore product on applying the light cream and from the rose gold deluxe packaging. L'oreal did well.

L'oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim Intense (Black Liquid Liner) - £6.99
This was a repurchase of one of my necessary products to have in my makeup bag. Yes, this is a favourite! For a liquid liner, it does not stray and stays exactly where it was applied. The pen has  a fine nib which makes it very easy to use and creates the perfect cat eye shape.

Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner: Shade 'Under My Spell'- £3.99
I have already done a separate blog post on this product with swatches. It is the perfect berry lip liner and, as I have said before, Rimmel Lip liners are incredibly underrated. Check out my blog post on this product: A Very Berry Christmas

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick: Shade 30- £5.49
Again, I have already blogged this product. It was a surprising drugstore lipstick! I tend to find other drugstore lipsticks I have used, last a little amount of time and tend to bleed. Whereas, this did far from just that. Check out my blog post with swatches on this product: A Very Berry Christmas.

Now because I spent a certain amount of money on L'oreal products, I was given this free gift with generously sized products inside. The 'Feline Fatale' gift box has an eyeshadow palette, liquid liner, mascara and nail varnish inside. Then in the bottom, I noticed another generous gift from L'Oreal which was a Boots Coupon that enables you to save £2.50 on any L'oreal Makeup. From trying to locate these products on L'Oreal's site and Boots, I have found they aren't on sale. Then on further research, I have found they are only sold in the US as a limited edition range. So, I would grab one of these quickly from Boots. Here's what I thought...

L'Oreal Colour Riche Eyeshadow: Shade 'Jungle Jade'
Although the two centre colours are very green shaded, I actually have found this eyeshadow creates a beautiful dark emerald look which was perfect at Christmas Time. This delightful quad palette demonstrates how to use the four different colours to make the perfect look. The colours are extremely pigmented and there is little or no fallout on application. However, the colours are not something I would go for all the time.

L'Oreal Super Liner Eyeliner (Liquid Pen): Shade 'So Couture Black'-
Although I already got the Perfect Slim Liquid Liner, I do like to use this liquid liner for less dramatic or precise looks. It has a tiny nib and gets into the places you may have missed. This may be a necessary makeup bag product too.

L'Oreal Mega Volume Collagene Mascara: Shade Black
This is the mascara I would use for a night out as it creates intense lashes. It has a thick mega-brush that I would say is twice as big as a normal mascara. Each and every lash is coated with the mascara leaving your lashes looking instantly plumped and full. This is a great mascara for causing that ultimate dramatic look.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Nail Varnish: Shade 'Feline Sauvage':
This Nail Varnish on first application is very streaky so does require a few coats. But once three coats are applied it leaves a gorgeous shimmered emerald. Again, it was a perfect Christmas time colour and it's a great party nail colour.

Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder: Shade 'Transparent'- £3.99
Every girl's beauty must have! I have always used the Kiko Pressed Powder but the shade got too dark for my winter skin tone so I thought best to pick up a transparent powder. This beauty, at a reasonable price, is always recommended online and everyone uses it. It was only just that I then bought this powder. It is a very lightweight powder that doesn't leave you looking caked. It glides on smoothly, setting and concealing along the glide. A great powder that definitely lives up to the hype.

Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Instant Perfecting Power Primer- £10.00
My favourite product out of them all. I have never been blown away by many drugstore primers's but after reading JasmineTalksBeauty's review I was tempted to purchase it and boy am I glad I did. I am sold for life to this product. The consistency is a cream-like formula so unlike the gel ones, does not ball up and fall off your face. This has definitely increased the length of time my makeup stays on and keeps me shine free throughout the whole day. I have tried this with just foundation (so without powder) and it works perfectly. My base smooths on and stays on like a treat.

Overall my Boots buy was successful! I have picked up some real beauties. Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts? Let me know if you have got any other products from Boots lately that are also worth trying!
