Best Budget Beauty Buys

If the picture above doesn't demonstrate how much of a hoarder of beauty products I am, then I don't know what will. This blog post is all my favourite budget beauty buys. If you are looking for great products but are tight on money at the moment, here is a collection of products I would recommend to anyone. Admittedly I would sometimes recommend these beauty buys more than some high-end ones. It's not necessary to splurge dramatics amount of money all the time to find great quality beauty products and recently, mainly because I'm in desperate need for my student loan, I have been investing in Boots, Superdrug and Beautybay on some great, inexpensive products. Each one of these products I can contend for being up there of high-end quality. So read on to find out why...

Makeup Brushes- Spectrum:

I have done a full review on Spectrum Brushes before on the blog, over at this link. But, I thought I would update you. Spectrum collections are what I would consider the best makeup brushes I have ever tried. Not only are they gorgeous to photograph but they are super soft and affordable. They are composed of the highest quality synthetic hair and, most importantly, are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. If you are on the search for best budget makeup brushes, I would hands down recommend these. They are growing more and more popular as the days go on and I'm not surprised in the slightest. They also have an exciting range to be launched on the 24th of March comprised of undeniably luxurious white and rose gold brushes in a Marble makeup bag. They are quick to notice a trend and are fabulous for any makeup geek. Check the new range out here!

Foundation

A great, inexpensive light-weight foundation. The Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum is by far one of the best drugstore foundations I have used.I have already done a full review on this foundation and it is situated comfortably in my current four favourites. Check out the post here for a full review. A great setting spray that works well with this foundation is the MUA Fixing Mist. In many ways, I would vouch for this being a cheaper dupe to the Mac Fix +. I have used the spray on long-days and for nights out and it really does glue your makeup to your face.

Powder:

For all those who love the Nars or Laura Mercier Translucent powder, I kid you not the Nyx Translucent Powder is the perfect dupe. The quality of this product for the price is out of this world. My makeup stays set in place all day, my concealer does not crease and my oily tzone is protected from running my foundation off my face. I will be repurchasing it time and time again. 'Where have I been without this product'... I find me asking myself on a daily basis? Lord knows! Anyway, this is now an essential in my makeup collection. For anyone wondering, it is also great for you contour lovers who love baking!

Contour:

I have been loving two inexpensive contour products. At first, I literally could not work out how to use the L.A. Girl PRO Conceal, after seeing Sarah Ashcroft swear by it. But since owning a beauty blender, my results have been much better. For a sharp and precise contour, the pro conceal is perfect. I own the shade beautiful bronze and the concealer comes with a brush on the end. I use the brush of the product to place the bronzer where I want to contour. Then I blend it in with a damp beauty blender. If you follow these steps, you will find you have created a contour to die for.  The product doesn't move if it is set with translucent powder or not. I was too quick to judge the Pro Conceal, so I take back my original view. The Nyx Conceal, Correct and Contour Palette is a great product for people who like to be more hands on when it comes to creating a flawless contour. The creams are extremely blend-able, with either a brush or a beauty blender. The only fault with the palette is the conceal colours are very yellow toned. They are good for a brow clean up as they seem to highlight the brow bone. But, even for me who has an extremely olive toned skin, I have found they are too yellow. Having said that, it is still a great budget beauty buy purely based on the contour colours, the pigmentation and the precision attained with it.

Highlighter:

The Nyx Illuminator is another shockingly fantastic product! I have become quite sick of The Balm Mary Lou Manizer and was on the search for a champagne-gold toned highlighter. The Balm has an iridescent champagne-silver tone on me. So I was really in the need for something warmer. The Nyx Illuminator in the shade Ritualistic is exactly that. It is extremely pigmented and the longevity of it is fantastic. I have recently, also, picked up the La Girl Velvet Hi-Lite contour stick in the shade Luminous. For those who love cream highlighters, this one will suit you just fine on a budget. Although it is of a creamy consistency, it drys similarly to a matte lipstick. Thus, again making the longevity great. But if you suffer from dry skin, I would not recommend it! The shade luminous is a gorgeous pink shimmer. The only fault with this highlight is the fact it does look very cheap. It is shaped like a kids crayon and the packaging looks poor-quality. But, it doesn't take away the fact the highlighter itself is phenomenal. Give it a risk!

Left Nyx Illuminator in Ritualistic and Right L.A. Girl Velvet Hi-Lite Contour Stick in Luminous.

Eyes:

The Ardell Demi Wispies false lashes are my favourite budget beauty buy for falsies. They are extremely natural and can be built upon with mascara for a night out. Ardell, overall, are my favourite drugstore eyelash range. Currently, they are giving away tiny little DUO eyelash glue with some of their eyelashes, which is my favourite drugstore eyelash glue. For mascara, I recently picked up the Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama. Admittedly, when I first used this mascara I was devastated beyond belief. I genuinely thought it was rubbish. But I guess I was just having a bad day because when I next used it, I couldn't believe how wrong I was. I curled my eyelashes before and am wondering if it was that, which made the difference. It is a great budget beauty buy for mascara and does dramatically make your lashes long and full. I have discovered from using it more that it requires little product for fantastic results! So, I would dispose of some product at the end of the brush before using it. Having said that, it is a wonderful mascara and it slightly resembles The Roller Lash by Benefit but gives a much fuller lash. For liquid eyeliner, there is no other product I would willingly pick up aside from the L'Oreal Super Liner. It is the easiest eyeliner I have used. It doesn't smudge or move and the colour intensity is great. Where the nib is fine and slim, you can get really hands on with this product and get it extremely close to the lash line. If you like to create cat eye liner, this is great for creating the perfect length and the shape.

Lips:

Although I am not a great lover of lipgloss, if I had to pick my best budget beauty to buy it would, shock horror, be the Nyx Butter Gloss. They are extremely pigmented and sit nicely on top of matte lipsticks to accentuate the colour even more so. Another gloss I have recently picked up is the L.A. Girl Flat Finish Pigment Gloss. This is super inexpensive and gives incredible results. If I was to compare this product to a high-end lip product, it resembles the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits. In fact, it is pretty spot on. I wouldn't say it drys completely matte but like a thick cream. Again, the pigmentation is exceptional and well worth the buy. For a matte lipstick, I would recommend the Nyx Lip-Cream's. I have done a full review of this product on this post. Last but not least, for lip pencils I would say my best budget beauty buy are the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lip Pencils. Rimmel has genuinely outdone any other brand with their lip pencils. They glide on super creamy and the pigmentation is to die for. They don't smudge or move and I would only really need to re-apply maybe once after original application.

Brows:

If you are looking for a product to use when you want a more natural brow, I would recommend the Rimmel Born This Way Brow Gel. This is a fantastic product for giving your brow that extra pick me up, even making them looking natural and more fuller. In using this product, you have to be extremely light handed and make sure you do not have too much product on the brush. Also, make sure you only brush the hairs of your brow and not the skin because it will leave them looking slug-like. Once you have mastered how to use this product, however, it is genuinely a great investment giving great results. For brow pencil, I use the Nyx Micro Brow Pencil. This is continuously compared to the Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz. But it is much more affordable? I willingly use this over the ABH Brow Pomade on a daily basis. Again, make sure you are light handed and then the results are outstanding. For brow powder, I use the Hi Impact Brows Kit. For a full review, read this post.

So there are my best budget beauty buys! I hope you enjoyed the post and have found some products you would like to purchase. Let me know if you have bought some great budget beauty products recently, I would love to know! What are your favourites?

Ps. L.A. Girl has just been launched on BeautyBay and you can buy NYX from Boots, Asos and Feel Unique
