Beauty March Favourites 2016

It's Cultured - Spectrum Brushes, L'Oreal, Rimmel, Victoria Secret and Mac March 2016 Beauty Favourites
This month I want to break up the March Love List into favourites, as there has been a wide range of products, films, entertainment that I have loved. It's the beginning of spring and one of the best seasons. It's drawing closer to summer. Therefore, this month is all about detoxing and cleansing, investing in spring/summer makeup and aiming to gain that summer body. I have found some great drugstore buys, high-end buys and an interesting take to summer detoxing. It includes Victoria Secret, Soap and Glory, Rimmel, L'Oreal and the new Spectrum Brushes. They have all given me some great spring/summer ready products and accessories. Read on to see what I have loved this month...

1- Skincare

It's Cultured March 2016 Beauty Favourites Soap and Glory

Soap & Glory- The Ultimelt Hot Cloth Cleanser

Now don't get me wrong, I am still in a lovely relationship with the very expensive Eve Lom Cleanser. But instead of going through it quickly, I have been using a cheaper alternative to change it up. The one I have been using is the Soap & Glory Hot Cloth Cleanser and for quite some time now. Isn't it funny how you can become to love a drugstore item more than a high end? I really just picked it up on a whim. But, I've been grabbing this cleanser far more than the Eve Lom. It is a super-concentrated cleanser that leaves your skin smooth and revitalised. Alongside this, it brightens and rebalances your skin. After my dissertation, my skin broke the eff out. I highly believe that the Soap & Glory Cleanser brought my skin back to life. Even using it alone is adequate. It doesn't necessarily require a double cleanse, however, I have been using the Garnier Micellar Water. It smells like a spa and feels so luxurious to use. My skin hasn't felt any better. Thank you Soap and Glory! It definitely has been a favourite this month. In fact, it has been a savior.

The cleanser comes with a muslin cloth and currently it only costs £6.67 (reduced from £10).

Almonds

You're probably thinking I'm losing the plot, writing about almonds. But almonds are considered the most nutritionally dense nut, meaning they offer the most overall nutrients per calorie and per ounce. How does this relate to skincare? Each almond contains a great amount of Vitamin E. Vitamin E is very beneficial for your skin as it protects the collagen and elastin proteins that glue your skin together from free radical damage. Vitamin E defends your skin against environmental damage, also. Almonds also have oleic acid, copper, magnesium, iron, fibre and magnese, which all have benefits of weight loss, great skin and healthy hair. Want great skin for summer and a snack that will help with weight loss? Almonds are honestly great. I have substituted almonds for chocolate this month and have started to notice a complete difference in my skin.

2- Makeup

Mac Prep and Prime Fix +

It's Cultured March 2016 Beauty Favourites Mac Fix + Review

The Fix + has been on my wishlist for a while. I've owned it before, but when I finished the last bottle, for some reason unbeknown to me, I did not repurchase it. This month I have repurchased it, however. Oh boy, I have missed it. It is such a great lightweight water-based mist that gently soothes your skin and finishes your makeup. It has green tea, cucumber and chamomile within the water, which makes the product smell gorgeous. Not only this, it has vitamins and minerals within the product too. I kid you not, every time I spritz this on my face, my skin feels instantly refreshed and hydrated. My makeup is left with a soft sheen and feels smoothly glued to my face. Not only this, it can be used in many other ways. When applying eyeshadow, I will apply the shadow to the brush and then spray it with Fix+. It really brings out the pigmentation from the shadow and glues it to your eyes. It has been a definite favourite for me this month.

L'Oreal False Lash Sculpt Mascara Black

It's Cultured March 2016 Beauty Favourites L'Oreal False Lash Sculpt Mascara Review

As a part of the new L'Oreal Sculpt range, they also bought out a mascara. The mascara that literally every YouTuber has been discussing and raving about. So, inevitably, I had to purchase it and here it is a month later situated in my March beauty favourites. As you can see in the photo, the comb is very unique. The idea of the mascara is that it will fulfil three sculpting effects to the eyelashes with a single stroke. These three effects are to tightline at the root, add volume at the core and fan-out the tip. Out of every mascara I have used, this has by far been the best and I have tried a lot of mascaras.  L'Oreal has really upped their game with it. There is no point in investing in high-end mascaras when you can pick up this mascara that does a better job. After I have used the False Lash Sculpt, my lashes look long, full and volumized. Without a doubt, it will always be in my makeup bag in the future, as an essential.

L'Oreal Infallible Xtreme Resist Lip Gloss (505) in Never Let Me Go

It's Cultured March 2016 Beauty Favourites L'Oreal Infallible Xtreme Resist Lip Gloss Never Let me Go Review

L'Oreal had a 3 for 2 in Superdrug and I ended up picking up this (as every beauty hoarder will say). To my surprise, however, it has now become my favourite lip gloss I own and I have been wearing it all month. I'm not necessarily a fan of lip gloss because I feel like they can be too sticky. But L'Oreal has really taken notice of this overly-sticky problem with glosses and have avoided making the consistency anything alike this. The formula is enriched with hyaluronic acid, which leaves the lips hydrated and moisturised. The shine and colour pigments are phenomenal. Again, with glosses you tend to get little pigmentation and it can just look like a sheen. But with the L'Oreal Infallible Glosses they are very intensely coloured. I would say the L'oreal Infallible Glosses are a dupe of the Mac Cremesheen glass. The shade 505 is the most beautiful rose gold with a slight coral tint. The colour is perfect for the spring and summer season. I have been reaching for this gloss more and more over the month. It has got to the point where I'm writing lists of future colours to buy within the range of L'Oreal Infallible beautiful glosses.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Sheer & Shine Lipstick in Spin All Spring

It's Cultured March 2016 Beauty Favourites Rimmel Moisture Renew Sheer and Shine Lipstick in Spin All Spring Blog Review Swatches

This is a product I saw in Daisie Smith's (Beauty's Big Sister) youtube video and straight away I was on a hunt for it. The colour is what drew me to it. Since last summer, I have been dying to find the perfect coral lipstick, which is not matte but more moisturising. Rimmel recently launched the Moisture Renew Sheer and Shine Lipsticks and when I saw Daisie Smith apply it in her video I was on a mission to get it. The colour Spin All Spring is genuinely a perfect peachy coral. It is the most buttery-smooth, moisturising lipstick I have ever bought and leaves a gorgeous luminosity to your lips. Not only this, it is enriched with vitamins and has SPF 20 to help protect your lips from the sun and prevent them from drying out. It almost feels like a gloss but at the same time not. If you have tried the Maybelline Baby Lips, the texture and consistency are very similar. But the pigmentation is phenomenal. As it is a moisturising lipstick, it does need a couple of applications throughout the day. But for the colour and the price, that does not bother me in the slightest. I can see these lipsticks being a sell out in the summer months, so grab yours quickly! It genuinely is a gorgeous lipstick.

3- Accessories

Victoria Secret Undies

It's Cultured Victoria Secret Thong

This may be a TMI moment. But, this summer I can really see the Victoria Secret Pink underwear being very on trend. They are like the Calvin Klein underwear but are much more girly and fun. They are super comfortable and not that badly priced (I mean expensive, but not overly-expensive).

Spectrum Marbelous Marble Brushes

It's Cultured Marble Spectrum Makeup Brushes Blog Review

Wow. Wow. Wow. When they launched, I had a timer on my phone and snapped up the marble cosmetic bag and the eyeshadow brushes in a snap. Like all Spectrum Brushes, they are incredibly soft, apply makeup with ease and are so glamorous on display. I mean incorporating rose gold and marble in one launch was the best idea I have seen in the beauty world. Although I own many Spectrum Brushes, these are my current favourite purely down to the beauty of them. Read a full review on other Spectrum Brushes I own here.
