September Beauty Favourites

Here are the September Beauty favourites, which I promised. This month I have discovered and rediscovered some great products, which I feel you all need to hear about. Now August is over, I have been investing in some makeup bits that will be great for autumn. September seems to have come around so quickly. So onto my September Beauty favourites...

L'Oreal True Match Foundation in 4.W

As my tan is fading, I was in desperate need of picking up a new foundation. After seeing many of my favourite bloggers/YouTubers wearing the L'Oreal True Match, I thought I would give it a whirl. Now here it is sitting in my beauty favourites. Out of every drugstore foundation, this is by far the best I have tried. The formula feels extremely velvety on the skin and is super blendable. I was so impressed with the longevity of the foundation. Although it has a beautiful natural satin finish, it still lasts all day. I do suffer from an oily t-zone so I have to set it with powder but regardless the foundation still lasts. I would say the finish is medium but is buildable to full coverage. L'Oreal True Match is the first drugstore foundation to introduce 23 shades that cater to 98% of the UK's skin tone. This foundation honestly gives the most flawless base.

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Primer

Primers are usually a step in my makeup routine that I get very lazy about. Although I get an oily T-zone, I cannot stand my skin looking too mattified. After Jaclyn Hill's video on her 'All Time Favourite Drugstore Makeup Products', I saw that she mentioned the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Primer. She compared the Lumi Magique as a dupe of the Becca Backlight Priming Perfector, which has been on my wishlist for ages. So, of course, I went ahead and bought it. It is an amazing light infusing primer that really brings a gorgeous luminosity to your skin. It provides such a beautiful hydration to your skin that adds a vanilla-looking glow and works with all skin tones. It is incredibly versatile and you can even wear it alone, under makeup or even mixed into your foundation for that extra hydration. I will definitely be repurchasing this over and over again.

Mac Powder Blush in Peaches

A blush that I have found myself reaching for more and more as the summer is transitioning into autumn is Mac Powder Blush in Peaches. Although I do love a subtle peachy glow in the early summer, I have found myself reaching for this more and more as the autumn is coming around. Since my purchase of the Morphe 35O, which I have done a blog post on that you can see here, I have been loving warm burnt orange eyeshadow looks and Mac Peaches really compliments this. It is a sheertone blush so it is ever so subtle but very pigmented at the same time.

Rodial Smokey Eye Pen in Brown

As I said, this September I have been enjoying wearing rustic orange and warm brown eyeshadow looks. In a look through my makeup collection, I found the Rodial Smokey Eye Pen in Brown. On a bit of a whim, I decided to try it in compliment with the Morphe 35O eyeshadows. I usually have a bit of a love-hate relationship with eyeliner pencils, as they either are extremely pigmented (like too much pigmentation) or they smudge everywhere and don't stay on very long. Yet, the Rodial Smokey Eye Pen is completely different. The formula of this eyeliner is something I haven't tried before. It feels gel-like and waxy, which has strong pigmentation. Having said that, it is extremely blendable and you can smoke it out with a brush to make a more natural look. The colour is a very warm, almost red-toned, brown and is perfect for the autumnal months. The best quality about this eyeliner is that it does not budge. Even though the concept 'smokey' may indicate that it will smudge, it won't budge unless you want to smoke it out. The longevity of the product is also phenomenal. It lasts all day. For an eyeliner pencil, I do think it is a bit on the pricey side. Having said that, I do think you need to pay more money on eyeliner pencils. The drugstore quality is not great and I have tried many, whereas with the Rodial Smokey Eye Pen the quality is phenomenal.

Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Paint in Dark Side Of The 'Shroom

I have quite a few of the Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Paints. The Nail Paints leave your nails with a gorgeous hi-shine, gel look. Not only this, they dry super quickly and last so much longer than a regular nail varnish. The nail varnish genuinely makes your nails look like they have been done in a salon. I would say for someone who has a job where they have to use their hands quite a lot, this nail varnish would be a perfect fit. They will last a week without chipping, even if you are consistently typing. My favourite shade out of the ones I picked up is Dark Side Of The 'Shroom. It is a beautiful mauve-grey, which is perfect for the autumn/winter season now approaching. It definitely has been a favourite colour and nail varnish for me this September.

Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing Top Coat

If you are thinking of purchasing one of the nail paints in this range, then you have to pick up the top coat too. Again, I have never tried such a high-quality top coat from a drugstore before until I tried the Barry M Sunset Daylight Top Coat. Whenever I paint my nails, I use this topcoat. Again it leaves your nails looking like they have been done in a salon and they last for ages. This has been a favourite topcoat for me this September and will be for a very long time. I think this topcoat is going to be very hard to beat.

Maybelline Colour Sensational Matte Lipstick in Divine Wine

It's time to whack out those berry lipsticks this autumn. I was going through my lipstick collection and stumbled across this beauty that I had totally forgotten about. Divine Wine is the most beautiful burgundy red and perfect for autumn. Although this lipstick is matte, it is extremely moisturising and smooth. It also feels comfortable to wear all day and doesn't dry up.

  1. Divine wine is such a gorgeous shade, yes for more berry lips ;) I'm not really into drugstore primer, but I've heard great things about Lumi Magique, so interested to try them.
